Simulation

Animation Show > PACE Technology

While modeling represents the static aspects of a model, executing a model, or simulation, allows for the examination of dynamic model behavior. The qualities of the individual processes and their interaction are checked. If the model is statically and dynamically a copy of reality, then it can be used for experiments. Typical applications are, e.g., determination of the optimal number of resources, recognizing future bottlenecks, calculation of optimal order quantities and delivery means, the consequences of planned reorganizations, etc.

During the development of a simulation model one will frequently change between modeling and simulation to verify the proper functioning of submodels after their construction. By this, stepwise and efficient model development is ensured.

Example: A street to which a car wash is attached.
